Sitemap Management
What is the Sitemap page?
The Sitemap page is the control center for managing all the pages of your website that you want to analyze. Here you can see all the URLs you've uploaded, check their scan status, enable or disable specific pages, and start single or multiple scans.
How to get started?
If you haven't uploaded a sitemap yet, you'll see a message inviting you to upload a file. You can upload a CSV or XML file from the upload page. Once the sitemap is uploaded, you'll see all URLs organized in a list.
Quick Statistics
At the top of the page you'll find four cards that give you a quick overview of your sitemap:
Total URLs
This card shows how many URLs you have in total in your sitemap. It includes all pages, both enabled and disabled ones.
Scanned
This card shows how many URLs have been successfully scanned. The number is in green to indicate that these pages have completed the analysis.
Failed
This card shows how many scans have failed. The number is in red to indicate that something went wrong during the scan of these pages. You can try scanning them again.
Enabled
This card shows how many URLs are currently enabled for scanning. Only enabled URLs can be scanned. You can enable or disable each URL individually.
Search and Filter
In the controls section you can find two useful tools to find the URLs you're interested in:
Search
The search field allows you to search for URLs by:
- Web address: Type part of the URL you're looking for
- Title: Type part of the page title
The search works in real-time, so you'll see results as you type.
Status Filter
The dropdown menu allows you to filter URLs based on their scan status:
- All statuses: Shows all URLs, regardless of status
- Never scanned: Shows only URLs that have never been analyzed
- Completed: Shows only URLs that have been successfully scanned
- Failed: Shows only URLs whose scans have failed
Scans
You can scan URLs in different ways:
Single Scan
To scan a single URL, find the URL in the list and click the button with the play icon (▶) next to it. The scan will start immediately and you'll see a progress bar at the bottom of the page.
Note: You can only scan URLs that are enabled. If a URL is disabled, the scan button will be deactivated.
Scan Selected
To scan multiple URLs at once:
- Select the URLs you want to scan using the checkboxes next to each URL
- Click the "Scan Selected" button at the top
- The number in parentheses indicates how many URLs you've selected
Only selected and enabled URLs will be scanned.
Scan All
The "Scan All" button automatically scans all enabled URLs in your sitemap. It's useful when you want to update all analyses at once.
Warning: If you have many URLs, this operation might take a long time.
URL List
The list shows all URLs in your sitemap with the following information:
Displayed Information
For each URL you see:
-
Status icon: A colored icon indicating the scan status
- 🔵 Globe: Never scanned
- 🟢 Green checkmark: Scan completed successfully
- 🔴 Red X: Scan failed
- 🟡 Clock: Scan in progress
- 🔄 Spinning: Scan currently running
-
Title: The page title (if available)
-
Enabled/Disabled badge: A badge indicating whether the URL is enabled or disabled for scanning
-
URL: The complete address of the page
-
Priority: A number indicating the importance of the page (useful for organizing scans)
-
Status: The current scan status (never scanned, completed, failed, in progress)
-
Last scan: The date of the last scan performed (if available)
-
Issues: The number of accessibility issues found (if available)
Available Actions
For each URL you can perform several actions:
Enable/Disable
The button with the checkmark or square icon allows you to enable or disable the URL.
- Enabled (green checkmark icon): The URL can be scanned
- Disabled (gray square icon): The URL will not be included in scans
Disabling a URL is useful if:
- The page is not ready to be analyzed yet
- You want to temporarily exclude a page from scans
- The page is under maintenance
Scan
The button with the play icon (▶) starts a single scan of the URL. It only works if the URL is enabled.
View Report
If a URL has been scanned at least once, you'll see a button with an eye icon (👁) that takes you to the detailed report of the last scan. Here you can see all the issues found and how to fix them.
Delete
The button with the trash icon (🗑) allows you to remove a URL from the sitemap. You'll be asked for confirmation before deleting the URL.
Warning: Deleting a URL removes it completely from the sitemap. If you only want to temporarily exclude it from scans, it's better to disable it instead of deleting it.
Multiple Selection
You can select multiple URLs at once using checkboxes:
- Select single URL: Click the checkbox next to the URL you want to select
- Select all: Use the checkbox at the top of the list to select or deselect all visible URLs (respects active filters)
Selected URLs can be scanned all together using the "Scan Selected" button.
Progress Bar
When you start a single scan, you'll see a fixed progress bar at the bottom of the page. This bar shows:
- Page title: The title of the page being scanned
- Animated bar: A bar indicating that the scan is in progress
- Current URL: The address of the page being analyzed
The bar disappears automatically when the scan is completed.
URL States
Each URL can be in one of these states:
Never Scanned
The URL has never been analyzed. This is the initial state of all newly uploaded URLs.
In Progress
The URL scan is currently running. You'll see a spinning icon to indicate that the process is active.
Completed
The scan has been completed successfully. You can view the report by clicking the "View Report" button.
Failed
The scan failed. This can happen for several reasons:
- The page is not reachable
- The page requires authentication
- There was an error during the analysis
You can try scanning the URL again to see if the problem resolves.
Useful Tips
-
Organize priorities: Use the priority field to organize your URLs. The most important pages should have higher priority.
-
Scan gradually: If you have many URLs, it's better to scan them in groups rather than all at once, especially if it's the first time.
-
Check failures: If some scans fail, check that the URLs are reachable and don't require authentication.
-
Use filters: Filters are very useful for quickly finding URLs that need attention, such as those never scanned or those that failed.
-
Enable only what you need: Disable URLs that you don't want to analyze to avoid unnecessary scans and save time.
Required Permissions
Some features require a Pro or Enterprise account:
- Scans: Only Pro and Enterprise users can start scans
- Enable/Disable URLs: Only Pro and Enterprise users can modify URL status
- Delete URLs: Only Pro and Enterprise users can delete URLs from the sitemap
Demo users can view the sitemap and reports, but cannot perform scans or modifications.
